Special Registration Deputies Training

The West Bend City Clerk is offering training and certification of Special Registration Deputies (SRDs) for the City of West Bend on Friday, February 24th from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at West Bend City Hall, Council Chambers. City Hall is located at 1115 S. Main St. 

 
This will be the only training offered in West Bend before the April election. There may be additional sessions after the April election. 
 
I have made inquiry of all of the other municipal clerks in the County to see if they will accept Amy’s training and certify those who complete it as SRDs for their municipalities. Under the new rules each municipality must certify those who register voters who live in that municipality. You do not have to live in a municipality in order to register new voters there, you just have to be approved as a SRD for that municipality. 
 
If you plan to help out with voter registration activities in the new office, especially during the Farmers Market this summer, you will need to become certified as an SRD. People from all over Washington County come to the Market. We will be having voter registration drives in other areas as well.

We meet at the Top of the Ridge, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday mornings at 8:30am. They’d like us out about 9:30 to get ready for their lunch set up.

Cedar Ridge is on the west side of West Bend, take Hwy. 33 west out of West Bend, then south on Scenic Drive West (note there are 3 Scenic Drives in Washington County, I don’t know why). Then a left turn onto Cedar Ridge Drive, park in the main parking lot. The main entrance is 113 Cedar Ridge Drive.

NEW Office – Grand Opening Party

Please join us as we celebrate the opening of our new Washington County Democratic Party office on Wednesday, February 15th. We will be holding our County Party meeting at 7:00 PM and the office opening celebration will follow at approximately 7:45. Please bring a snack… to pass. Beverages will be provided.

You do not have to be a member of the Democratic Party to attend either event. Please join us and be a part of the exciting changes going on in Washington County!

UPDATE: Our confirmed guests include Senator Kathleen Vinehout and Mike Tate, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.  There will also be a representative from Tammy Baldwin’s campaign attending.  Due to the large number of people we are expecting, we’re asking people to bring their own folding chair if possible.
