The following event will take place at the Washington County Democratic Party Office located at 132 North Main Street in West Bend.

Tuesday, January 26th, 7:00 to 8:30 PM:  Community Forum – “Alternative Energy”

Paul Thomas, an Ozaukee County resident and former teacher, will share his story which starts with wanting to save money and ends with creating a life away from fossil fuels.

The presentation will include: “What options are applicable in this region?” “How can you inexpensively start the alternative energy path?” and “Why would you want to leave fossil fuels in the ground?”

This presentation is meant to give you a spectrum of ideas on how to utilize the world of alternative energy, as opposed to a pitch to abandon all civilized life.

Come and join us to learn more about everyday ways to reduce fossil fuel use.

Tuesday, February 9th, 6:30 to 8:00 PM:  Senator Tim Cullen Discusses His Book – “Ringside Seat: Wisconsin Politics – the 1970s to Scott Walker”

“Ringside Seat: Wisconsin Politics – the 1970s to Scott Walker.”

Senator Cullen will be available to sell and sign copies of his book before and after his presentation.

Book proceeds will fund scholarships for local kids of color who pursue teaching in Janesville.

This event is free and open to the public. Friends and Family are welcome.

Weekly Update from Our Field Organizer, Autumn Linsmeier

LinsmeierHello Everyone,

Last week I met with our Membership Coordinator, Lynn Carey, to do some planning on how to get our membership numbers up. We came up with some great ideas and I look forward to implementing them soon.

Along with that, I continued to make phone calls, inviting people to our upcoming community forum. (I made about 850 calls last week.)

I have also been doing some planning for a “Young Democrats/College Democrats Group” in Washington County. Stay tuned for an upcoming news regarding that.

Wisconsin Labor History Society Essay Contest

All Wisconsin high school students (grades 9-12) are welcome to participate in this essay contest. Participants are asked to write an essay that is approximately 750 words in length on the following theme: “Unions have been important to my family and my community because…”

ELECTION Information for the Upcoming February and April Elections

The “February 16th Primary” and the “April 5th General Election” are coming up fast!

Do you know what you will be voting on in February and April?  If not, be sure to check out this website:

After you click on the “Regular Voter” box, you will be able to type in your first name, last name and date of birth to obtain information on where your voting location is and who the candidates are.

2016 State Convention of the Wisconsin Democratic Party

The 2016 State Convention of the Wisconsin Democratic Party will take place on June 3rd and 4th at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center located at 2040 Airport Drive, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Wednesday, January 20th, 7:00 to 8:30 PM: MONTHLY MEETING

It’s the first meeting of 2016—a Presidential Election Year! 

We will be discussing the completion of our 2015 goals and writing new goals for 2016. Along with that, we will be talking about the February Primary and our plan for working on spring elections.

We will also be starting a “snack table” during our meetings. So, if you are interested in providing a snack, contact Tanya (telohr@charter.net) or Stephen (firststephan@att.net).
