Welcome Our New Organizer!

We are very excited to announce that we have hired our new organizer!

Please help us welcome Ms. Autumn Linsmeier to the Washington County Dems.

Autumn has interned with the ADCC (Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee), Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, State Senator Hansen’s office, the State Senate Democratic Committee (SSDC) and the City of Manitowoc Mayor Nickels’ office among others. Autumn is orginally from Manitowoc and is excited to be joining us in West Bend. We are very fortunate to have Autumn as our organizer.

Autumn will begin work on November 15th. However, due to the need to finish her classes in Madison, she will be doing a lot of work from home in the first month. Please keep your eyes open for an upcoming “Meet & Greet” we will be hosting so members of our group have a chance to meet her. (But, don’t be surprised if you hear from Autumn before we are able to set this up.

Welcome Autumn!  We are proud to have you join our team!

Another “SOCK DRIVE” for our Community Service Project

We have been asked to please, please, please, do our sock drive for the West Bend High Schools’ “Holiday Hope” event again this year.

This event is a holiday party that is held for students at West Bend West and East High School who have been identified by their teachers as in need of some holiday cheer. Many of the students come from disadvantaged households and others are referred because they are going through a personal trauma or struggle.

This program is unique in its use of teachers to identify students in need and, in doing so, we can catch students who do not qualify for other holiday programs.

Last year the socks we collected for students were a top hit at the event and students spent a lot of time selecting the perfect pair of socks. Several students have already asked if there will be socks again this year. That is why we enthusiastically agreed to do the sock drive again. We definitely made a difference with our donations last year.

Please drop off your sock donations at the office where there is a laundry basket ready for your donation. The socks are for teenagers—ages 14 to 18—so they should be in adult or teen sizes. Colors, patterns, length, et cetera are up to you.

Thank you so much for participating in this year’s “Holiday Cheer” event.

Your help is needed for the upcoming elections.

The Democratic Party has to submit names of new or current election inspectors (poll workers) for all municipalities in Washington County. These are paid positions.

Current election workers will be contacted for re-appointment if still interested for another term. A term is two years (2016 & 2017), ending on December 31, 2017.
